The Drama King got some New Books

Today I finally took Dominic to Barnes & Noble to spend the gift card he got from Mo on Christmas.
Here he is checking out the gift card before we left.
I intended to take some pictures of him choosing his books, but I forgot my phone in the car.  He ran around the kids section making loud gasps when he saw a book he recognized or one with a recognizable object on the front.  In the end, we chose two he seemed the most excited about.

The book on the left is a giant board book with tons of great truck pictures. On the right is an over-sized Richard Scarry book with 70 pages of busy car-related scenes.
If you haven't heard Dominic's drama king gasps, here is a special video just for you. :)

The gasps were actually louder and more dramatic when he saw the books for the first time.

Thank you to Mo for the fun gift!

Happy Easter (Belated)

I went to Nashville on Monday for work, and failed to get any Easter pics up before I left.  Saturday before Easter, there was a neighborhood party at the park.  Dominic slept through the egg hunt in his morning nap, which was good since we didn't donate any candy-filled eggs to the event planners.  He was up in time to get pictures with the Easter bunny:

Hilarious.
You can see why we had to join the picture.

Here are some pictures I took for fun while we were at the park:

Sunday morning Marcos made gingerbread pancakes and Dominic liked them.  I guess he will only have oatmeal for breakfast 365 days this year and not 366.  After breakfast, he had a basket waiting for him in the living room, and he was not shy about checking out his loot.

Waiting for pancakes.
The loot.

Finally, his own box of crayons!

I like his finger in this one.
As you can see, he cracked every egg and dumped his jelly beans on the floor.
This is before Marcos showed him jelly beans are edible.

This is after.
All in all, a fun and relaxing day. Marcos made ham and Dominic liked that too.  He even took a bite of Marcos' sushi the other day. It's nice he's starting to branch out on what he'll eat.  I hope everyone had a nice Easter too!
